M.E. Pete Webb

June 24, 1929 — October 18, 2007

M. E. “Pete” Webb, passed away October 18, 2007. He was born at Swifton, Arkansas on June 24, 1929, to Henry and Ollie Webb. He was a member of the Southwest Church of Christ where he served as a teacher and deacon.

He was a Korean War veteran, and was a licensed machinist in California before moving to Jonesboro in 1969. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Delena Smith Webb, of the home; one son, Jeff Webb and his wife Denise, of Jonesboro, two daughters, Sandra Webb of Woodstock, Georgia and Jeannette Graham and her husband Gene of Springfield, Missouri; five grandsons, Jason, Cody, and Trey Graham of Springfield, Eli and Ethan Webb of Jonesboro, and a granddaughter Jennifer Webb of Jonesboro; one brother Harold Webb, three sisters, Christine Gibbs, Remona Harvey, and Carolyn Wheeler.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Ewell Webb, Billie Webb, and Bobby Webb.

A memorial service will be held 4:00 pm Sunday, October 21, 2007, at Southwest Church of Christ, with Bill Wheeler and Richard Akins officiating. Burial will be private. Emerson Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements. The family will receive family and friends from 3:00 pm until service time on Sunday.
