Insert from family:
Today we gather to remember Maxine, who was a Sister, Mother, Grandmother, Auntie, and Cousin to many.
Maxine’s life was not always easy. She faced many struggles, and those challenges often shaped her moods, her actions, and her relationships. There were difficult days—for her and for those around her.
But even in the midst of that, there were moments—like the times she would sit and talk, share a laugh, or simply be present in her own way. Those moments remind us that she was more than her struggles.
God sees what we cannot see. He knows every burden and every silent battle. Where we saw hardship, God saw His child—worthy of love, grace, and mercy.
And today, we are reminded of how fragile life is and how deeply we all need God’s peace. In this moment, we release judgment and choose compassion.
We place Maxine in God’s hands. We trust in His mercy, His peace, and His unfailing love.
Maxine was our family, and her life mattered.
May God grant her peace and receive her with open arms.
Your Sister, Tommie Kyles Griffin
