Maxene Whitener Johnson

Maxene Johnson, 86, of Jonesboro died Sunday, October 30, 2011, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.

She was born at Bernie, Missouri, on May 8, 1925, to Dan and Flora Whitener. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Weldon Whitener.

Survivors include her husband, Herman Johnson; two daughters, Linda Johnson and Carolyn Black; son-in-law, Paul Black, Jr.; sister-in-law, Irene Whitener; four step grandchildren; eight step-great grandchildren and two favorite nephews, Gary and Dale Whitener.

Visitation will be from 1-2:00 P.M. Thursday November 3, at Emerson Funeral Home.

A private burial will follow.
