Matthew “Matt” Lynn Bishop, 30, of Brookland passed from this life on Wednesday, April 29, 2020. He was born to Mike and Bernice Bishop on May 15, 1989 in Jonesboro. Matt was a 2007 graduate of Brookland High School and a Member of Central Baptist Church in Jonesboro. Farming has been a passion of Matt’s his whole life and he worked as the Farm Supervisor for Marty White Farms. Farming was the perfect career for Matt, because it let him duck hunt in the down time. He was also a mentor and big brother to all of the friends of his younger brother, Blake. Matt loved hunting and Matt loved farming, but Matt loved his daughter, Ella, most of all.

Matt is preceded in death by his grandparents, Mildred & Wayne Bishop and Bill & Maxine Turner.

Matt is survived by his daughter, Ella Bishop of Jonesboro; parents, Mike and Bernice Bishop; brother, Blake Bishop; sister, Candice Bishop; his loving girlfriend, Mary Peebles; and his beloved K-9 companion, Mitzi.

There will be a graveside service held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at Pine Log Cemetery with Bro. Don Blackmore officiating. The pallbearers will be Blake Miller, John Meads, Justin Mullins, Payton Futrell, Aaron Garner, Scott Jones, and Kyle McGee. The honorary pallbearers will be all of Matt’s hunting buddies and the farm families that Matt has known throughout his life.
