Mary Helen Torres

Mary Helen Torres, 44, of Brookland died Monday July 21, 2014 in Poinsett, County. She was born in Littlefield, Texas on October 6, 1969 to San Juan and Maria Ellen Hernandez. Mary had lived in Brookland for 5 years, moving there from Jonesboro. She was a homemaker and a member of Central Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a sister; Mary Lou Hernandez.

Survived by her husband; Harvey Torres of the home.

Son; Dayton Peterman of Whitehall, Arkansas.

Daughters; Cecilia Torres, Catherine Torres and Christina Hill all of the home.

Parents; San Juan of Littlefield, Texas and Marie Hernandez of Mexico.

Brothers; San Juan Hernandez of North Little Rock, Arkansas and Ray Portillo of Cape Coral, Florida.

Sister; Elise Wuelling of Jacksonville, Arkansas.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday July 25, 2014 at Central Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Martin officiating. Burial will be at Pine Log Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.

Visitation will be from 5-7:00 P.M. on Thursday July 24, 2014 at Emerson Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Dr. Lowery Beck, Tim Bowers, Juan Morales, Abraham Torres, Eddie Baker and K. Michael Osborne.

Honorary pallbearers will the Conspiracy of Kindness class of Central Baptist Church.
