Mary V. Beakely Minick Thomas, 83, of Cave City died, Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Ash Flat Nursing Home.

She was born January 13, 1929 at Popular Ridge, Arkansas to the late Markus Walter Beakley and Katie Lee McClain. She was retired from Lincoln St. Louis in Jonesboro, and moved to Cave City where she was a Home Health Aid for ten years. She loved flowers and quilting. She was of the Pentecostal faith and attended the Cave City Church of God.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers; David Beakley, Sonny Beakley and Ila Lee Beakley; and two half-brothers; Tommy Smith and Jimmy Smith.

Survivors include one son, David Eugene Minick and wife Shirley of Evening Shade; two daughters Sandra Hattenhauer and her husband James of Batesville, and Teresa Brown and her husband Tim of Cave City; one-half brother, Dan Smith of Illinois; one sister Marthree Smith of Bay; two half-sisters Francis Farris of Corinth, MS, and Ann Bennett of Heber Springs; five grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Allen Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Log Cemetery in Brookland, with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time.

Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Chad Ring, Todd Blue, Jimmy D. Hattenhauer Jr., Craig Desmedt, John Smith, and Kirk Desmedt.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Homer Brooks, and Dr. James and Mark Davis.
