Mary Jane (Massanelli) Peace, 72, went to be with her heavenly father on Thursday, February 4, 2016, passing peacefully at her home surrounded by her family and close friends after a 2 year battle with Ovarian Cancer. A lifelong resident of Jonesboro, she was born to Mike and Adele Massanellli on September 9th, 1943. She was a lifetime member of Blessed Sacrament Church. She graduated high school from Holy Angels Academy for Girls in 1961.
She worked her entire life for the family business, Massanelli Cleaners, in downtown Jonesboro until last year. She was the center piece for her family, the “glue” so to speak. She always took care of everyone else with little or no regard for herself. She always had encouraging words for anyone that needed them. She loved spending time with her children, grand-children and great-grandchildren. She was truly an amazing and giving person to all that knew her. She touched the hearts of everyone that had the pleasure of meeting her. She leaves behind a legacy of faithfulness, spirituality, and love. Just knowing her was like having a piece of Heaven on earth. She will be missed by many.
She is proceeded in death by her husband; Bill Peace, parents; Mike and Adele Massanelli, and great-grandsons Mason Ross, and Daniel Elliot.
She is survived by her children, Debbie (Lafe) Roberts, Jeannie Lynn Bonds, and Dean (Annette) Peace all of Jonesboro; her grand-children Phillip (Brittney) Hout, Jacob Hout, Michael Roberts, Brittany (Jonathan) White, Hunter Vanhorn, Sophie Bea Bonds, Tabatha (Daniel) Gravatt, Tyler (Denyel Colmus) Peace, Kristen Worthington, Stefanie (Mathew) Wittwer, Shane (Brandi) Worthington; her great-grand-children; Laikyn Jade Foster, Emery Kate Hout, Eleanor Adele White, Charles Elliott White, Emma Russell, Jace Russell, Josey Wittwer, Landry Wittwer, Owen Shane Worthington, and baby boy Peace to arrive in July, brothers Bob (Dorothy) Massanelli and Mike (Jackie) Massanelli both of Jonesboro, two sister in laws Gayle Shinault and Sue White both of Jonesboro, nephew Ralph (Sherry) Massanelli of Jonesboro, life-long friend Barbara Lemmons of Jonesboro and many other family members and friends.
