Mary Olive Swanson Shaver

Mary Olive Swanson Shaver died on Saturday, January 24, 2009, in Fairfield, Ohio, in hospice care. Lolly was born in Stuttgart, Arkansas, on May 26, 1915. She was the daughter of James Nils Swanson and Mary Olive Barnett Swanson.

She spent most of her life in Jonesboro, Arkansas as a daughter, sister, wife, mother and teacher. She married Harold Crockett Shaver (died May 2, 1984) October 6, 1934 in Jonesboro. They were the parents of Robert Alan Shaver and David Paul Shaver. “Lolly” graduated from Jonesboro High School and Arkansas State University. She taught grammar school for many years.

Lolly is survived by her daughter-in-law, Lynn Shaver; son, David Shaver; four grandchildren, Ryan Shaver, Kimberly Light, Jeffrey Alan Shaver, and Michael Shaver; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; and son, Robert Alan Shaver.

Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:00 at Oaklawn Cemetery in Jonesboro with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

There will be no visitation.
