Mary Magdalene Minton, 84, of Jonesboro died Sunday June 1, 2014 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born in Jonesboro on October 17, 1929 to the late Hubert and Myrtle Byrd Carter. Mary lived in Jonesboro her lifetime and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Order of the Eastern Star Olive Chapter 147 and a Former Girl Scout Leader Troop #3315.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; George Adolph Minton, daughter; Rachael Wood, son; Roy Minton, brothers; Thurman Carter, J.C. Carter, Esteal Carter and one great grandson; Trey Haney.
Survived by her sons; Paul Minton (Kathy) of Little Rock, Arkansas, Michael Minton (Kaye) and Rickey Minton (Susan) all of Bono.
Daughters; Demetreal Harp (Leonard) of Trumann and Marcia Feild of Bono.
Brothers; Robert Carter of Carson, California and George Carter of Jonesboro.
Sisters; Tommie Ann Root (Garland) of Charlotte, Michigan and Joan Copeland of Jonesboro.
14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and 1 great - great grandchild.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday June 5, 2014 at Emerson Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Henderson officiating. Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.
Visitation will be from 5-7:00 P.M. Wednesday June 4, 2014 at Emerson Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers will great grandchildren.
Family requests that lasting memorials be made to the Trumann First Christian Church,521 W Main St, Trumann, AR 72472-3014.
