Mary Lou Mcdaniel

Mary Lou McDaniel, age 77, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, died on February 17, 2017, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.

She was born on February 21, 1939, at Mountain Home, Arkansas, the daughter of Chester C. and Doris Jane Hickman Studdard. On January 21, 1973, she was married to J. Leonard McDaniel.

Mary Lou retired from her beloved Arkansas State University as Emeritus Assistant Dean of Students. She was a member of the ASU Faculty Women’s Club and an active member of two local bridge clubs. She was an active member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church where she served many years as an officer of the United Methodist Women, membership secretary, and church historian. She was a member of the Pathfinders Sunday School class.

Mary Lou is survived by her husband, Leonard; her brother-in-law and his wife, Judson and Gracie McDaniel; her sister-in-law and her husband, Eunice and Frank Cothren; nieces, nephews, cousins; and a host of friends.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. with family visitation after the service at Cornerstone United Methodist Church and officiated by the Rev. Chris Hemund and the Rev. Chris Cooper.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Pathfinders Sunday School class and members of the United Methodist Women.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Cornerstone United Methodist Church, 1910 Disciple Drive, Jonesboro, Arkansas.
