Mary Anne Mathis

Mary Anne Mathis, 57, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on August 17, 2022, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born in Havana, Illinois to Herbert and Mary Marie Pilkinton. She had lived most of her life in Jonesboro and was of the Christian belief.  She served Craighead County as a District Court Clerk for over 19 years.  Spending time with her family, especially her grandson, Isaac, was high on her priority list.  She enjoyed playing softball, camping and being on the family farm in Mammoth Springs, Arkansas.  She was preceded in death by one child, born into heaven, and one brother-in-law, and Anne Marie’s mother-in-law, Rebecca Darlene Robinson and father-in-law, Steve Robinson.

Survivors include her parents, Herbert and Marie Pilkinton of Greers Ferry; significant other, Penny Vavak, of the home; daughters, Anne Marie Robinson and husband, Aaron of Jonesboro; Jerri Deneen and husband Geoffrey Smith of Batesville, Arkansas; adopted daughter, Taylor Hitchcock of Bono; brother, James Pilkinton of Mountain Home; sisters, Cindy Gallaway of Greers Ferry; Susan Jarrett and husband Danny of Mammoth Springs; Norma Harper of Greers Ferry; and her grandson, Isaac Robinson.
