Mary Lee Born

Mary Lee Born, 89, of Jonesboro, passed away Monday, April 22, 2013 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. She was born December 18, 1923 to the late Marvin & Rachel Haynes Poole of Newport.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Oscar Miller; her second husband, Carl Born; two sisters, Victoria Riley and Lillie Mae Poole.

She is survived by four brothers, Billy Joe Poole, Fresno, California, Marvin Poole, Jr., Jonesboro, James Poole, Poughkeepsie, Virginia, David Poole, Little Rock; four sisters, Louise Keaster, Strong, Arkansas, Peggy Bradley and Loretta Gregory, both of Newport, Shirley King, Winter Garden, Florida; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews.

One of her favorite pastimes was bowling with her senior friends. She was of the Christian faith and loved her church and Sunday school class.

Visitation will be Wednesday at Emerson Funeral Home from 12 – 2:00 p.m. Graveside services will be Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at Arnold Cemetery in Swifton with Bro. Matt Smith, pastor of First Assembly of God Church officiating. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
