Mary Kathryn Berry

Mary Kathryn Berry, 84, of Jonesboro, died Thursday, October 4, 2018, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center.  Mary Kathryn lived most of her life in Jonesboro, where she was a member of Southwest Church.  Mary Kathryn was the founder of the NEA Breast Cancer Support Group.  During collage she was a member in the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority.  She was a Registered Nurse for over 31 years.  She started her nursing career at the age of 50.  Prior to starting college she was active in the family businesses. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Berry; grandson, Christopher Reeves, and her parents.

Survivors include her children, Kathy Hahn (Michael) of Gulf Shores, Alabama; Cheryl Reeves (Steve Broadaway) of Jonesboro; Chuck Keller (Craig Van Skaik) of Los Angeles, California; brother, Harold Ferguson (Wanda) of Jonesboro; grandchildren and spouses, Kaki (Chris) Hurley; Chelsey (Shannon) Henson; Chloe (Zach) Reves; Carly Van Skaik, William Van Skaik, and Louis Van Skaik; 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Monday, October 8, 2018 at the Southwest Church with Jimmy Adcox, Chris Hurley, and Jason Ferguson officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Lance Pickering, Dale Gibbs, Chance Smith, William Van Skaik, Chris Hurley, Lee Ferguson, Louis Van Skaik, Isaac Hurley, Asher Hurley, Elijah Hurley and Titus Hurley serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers are Carl Avis, Jean Pasmore, Sue Williams, Dr. Allen Nixon, Dr. Michael Hightower, Dr. Jason Casey, Penny Best, Jan Duncan, Kay Ferguson, residents and staff of St. Bernard’s Village; and the NEA Breast Cancer Support Group. Visitation will be from 4-6 Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Emerson Memorial Chapel.
