Mary K. Hanks

Mary K. Hanks, 92, of Jonesboro, died Monday, January 6, 2025, at St. Elizabeth’s Nursing Center.  She had lived in Jonesboro since 1955, moving here from Roseland, Mississippi.  She was born in Oglesby Texas on February 18, 1932, to Guy and Bessie Jones.  She was a self-employed caretaker for many families over the years.  She was of the Protestant belief.  Mary had many hobbies, but planting a garden and feeding birds, were her favorite.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Arlen Hanks, three brothers, and many nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her son, Guy Hanks. All services will be private under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home.
