Mary "Ermal" L. Tinsley

Mary “Ermal” L. Tinsley, 88, of Jonesboro passed away Monday, February 07, 2022 at her home. She was born May 13, 1933 in Hergett to the late Odell and Gertie Burton. Ermal was a member of Brookland church of Christ. She worked many years keeping the books for her husband at Tinsley Saw Mill. Ermal enjoyed cooking, raising muscadines, and gardening. Most of all she loved her family and church.

In addition to her parents, Ermal was preceded in death by her daughter, Charlotte Tinsley-Grant; great grandson, Tristan Taylor; sister, Janette Burton Whitley and 3 brothers, Cleo Burton, Charles Burton and Alfred Burton.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Herman A. Tinsley of the home; daughter, Marian Tinsley of Jonesboro; son in law, Eric Grant of Jonesboro; 3 grandchildren, Shannon (Jessica) Roberson of Jonesboro, Shaun (Carey) Roberson of Bryant, Samantha (Trey) Coffey of Newport; 6 great grandchildren: Dylan (Samantha) Ferrell of Jonesboro, Grant Taylor of Newport, Jordan Ferrell of Jonesboro, Aidan Roberson of Jonesboro, Coen Roberson of Bryant, Cali Roberson of Bryant; 1 great-great granddaughter, Melia Ferrell of Jonesboro; sisters in law, Lavena Burton, California, Gretchen Pruitt of Jonesboro; brothers in law, Harold Tinsley of Jonesboro, Donald Tinsley of Jonesboro and many loving nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Melba Walker and all the other caregivers who cared for Ermal Tinsley.

Graveside service will be Thursday, February 10, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. at Philadelphia Cemetery with Bro. Terry Joe Kee officiating.

Visitation will be from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home prior to the graveside service.
