Mary Elizabeth Adams, 74, of Bay, died Saturday morning at her home of natural causes.
Born in Wynne, Mrs. Adams lived most of her life in the Bay area. She retired in 1994 from the Jonesboro Human Development Center and was a member of the Alsup Free Pentecostal Church.
Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her husband: Loyd Lee Adams; by a brother: Billy Neal; by 3 grandchildren: Victoria Renee Adams, Meredith Renee Adams and Donnie Adams, Jr.; by 2 great grandsons: Tristian Timms and Lee Edward Lyles; and by a great, great granddaughter: Leslie Cheyenne Morgan.
Survivors include:
5 Sons: Lloyd “Butch” Adams, and Donnie Adams, both of Bay, Terry Adams of Jonesboro, Wesley Adams of Sedgewick, and David Adams of Tuckerman;
4 Daughters: Mary Whitlock of Bay, Janet Kain of Harrisburg, Teresa Emerson of Bay, and Patsy Hartsell of Tuckerman;
1 Brother: Dale Neal of Brookland;
4 Sisters: Kathryn Granger, Betty Purtee, and Margaret Cook, all of Jonesboro, and Lavern Rowlett of Branson;
21 Grandchildren, 30 Great Grandchildren, and 6 Great, Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning, January 3, 2007, at 10:30 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Pagan officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers include: Gary Adams, Willie Whitlock, Chris Kain, T.J. Adams, Michael Hattennauer, and D.J. Hartsell.
Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, 5-8, at Emerson Funeral Home.
