Mary Carolyn Dupwe

Mary Carolyn Dupwe, age 89, died on Wednesday in Little Rock surrounded by her loving family and caring community at the Colonel Glenn Nursing and Rehab.  From her birth in Jonesboro, on November 28, 1929 to her death on December 5, 2018 she cherished those around her and filled them with love, faith, and good food.  One of five children, Carolyn married at just sixteen years old.  Together she and her husband, David Raymond Dupwe Jr., had five children Davie (Marilyn), Mike (Regina), and Jerry (Brenda), Vicki (Ron), and Marsha.  The family moved to McGehee, AR, where they owned a local florist shop and funeral home.  She was a devote Catholic and some of Carolyn’s favorite hobbies included serving her church, playing cards with her friends, and cooking meals for her family.  But most importantly, she loved the Lord and catering to her numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.  Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, David, and son, Davie.  She will be remembered as a bright, shining light by all of those who knew her.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 7th at 11:00 am at Emerson Funeral Home, 1629 E. Nettleton, Jonesboro with Fr. Alphonse officiating.  Visitation at 10:00 am.  Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Jonesboro.  The Dupwe family would like to extend our gratitude to all the staff at Colonel Glenn Nursing and Rehab as well as Kindred Hospice for their attentiveness and loving care.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Carolyn’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
