Mary Brown

Mary Wilson Brown, 72, of Jonesboro passed from this life Tuesday, January 12, 2016 from the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born June 15, 1943 in Pine Bluff to the late John and Eleanor Wilson. Mary was a 1961 graduate of Pine Bluff High School. Mary then attended the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff where she received a Bachelor of Science in Education. She then went on to get her Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Mary taught first and second grade for the Watson Chapel School district before her retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James (Jim) Marvin Brown.

Survivors include her daughter, Lillian Brown (Kirk) Bock of Bryant; her son, Brad (Carol) Brown of Jonesboro; three grandchildren: Garrett Bock, Caroline Bock, Claire Brown; one sister, Judy Holland and one brother, Johnny (Gwen) Wilson.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 10:00 am in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bruce Venable officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 pm in Graceland Cemetery at Pine Bluff.

Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 am prior to the service.
