Mary Beth Jones, 79, of Bono, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026 at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born in Jonesboro on August 14, 1946 to Jimmy Rupard and Marie Huffman Rupard.

A lifelong Jonesboro resident, Mary Beth was a 1964 graduate of Jonesboro High School. That same year, she married the love of her life, James, and they spent over 60 beautiful years together. After high school, she attended Melton’s Business College. Mary Beth worked at Arkansas State University until her retirement, after which, she started her own business, J & M Cake Supplies. In her free time, she enjoyed fishing, playing card games and bingo, and watching Cardinal’s baseball. Above all else, Mary Beth loved her family. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, bringing Mary Beth endless joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Marie Rupard.

Mary Beth is survived by her husband, James Jones; daughters, Christi Johnston and Chastity Jones and her fiancé, Doug Huot; sister, Cathy Lindsay; grandchildren, Brock Johnston and his wife, Meagan, and Lucas Johnston and his wife, Lindsey; and her great-grandchildren, Layton and Eva.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel. A celebration of life will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Craig Miller officiating.
