Mary B. Lunsford, 78, of Jonesboro, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2014, at her home of natural causes.
Born in Portageville, Missouri, Mary lived in rural Monette, Corning and Brookland before moving to Jonesboro in 1967. She worked 5 years for St. Bernards Regional Medical Center and 18 years for Methodist Hospital of Jonesboro before retiring in 2001.
Mary enjoyed sewing and watching her favorite television shows. Her real passion was spending time with her grandchildren and family. She was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by her parents, Francis O. and Capitola Tabor Cook, husband Waymon Lunsford, brothers Johnny and Eugene Hale and sister Ruby Cook.
Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Holt (Scott Barker) of Jonesboro;
2 sons: Jeff Lunsford and Thomas (Claudia) Lunsford, all of Jonesboro;
2 sisters: Nancy Hurst of Bokoshe, Oklahoma and Rosetta (James) Luttrell of Kensett;\
1 brother, Travis Cook of Searcy;
8 grandchildren: Ariel Lunsford, Crae Lunsford, Trae Holt, Lance Holt, Emily Looney, Olivia Bridgeman, Meagan Walker and Tyler Barker; and
2 great grandchildren: Zane Lunsford and Tanner Holt.
Graveside funeral services will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. in Jonesboro Memorial Park with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home.
