Mary Alice Hodge

December 15, 1919 — December 17, 2005

Mary Alice Hodge, 86, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, died Saturday morning, December 17, 2005, at her home.

Born in Jonesboro, Mrs. Hodge lived most of her in Jonesboro. She was a homemaker and a charter member of the Highland Drive Christian Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and youth leader. She was also a member of the Christian Women’s Fellowship and was a Deaconess emeritus.

Mrs. Hodge was preceded in death by her husband: Leonard Hodge; Granddaughter: Christy Pickering; parents: Starling and Hazel Douglas Wood; 6 brothers and 3 sisters.

Survivors include:

Daughter and Son-in –law: Mary Lou and Jerry Pickering of Jonesboro;

Son and Daughter-in-law: Mike and Sharon Lofton of North Little Rock;

1 Sister: Fannie Lou Milam of East Pointe, Michigan;

1 Brother: Albert Warren Wood of Beebe;

5 Grandchildren: Leslie Boone of Wynne, and
Holly Fendley, Michael Lofton, Bryan Lofton, and
Valerie King, all of North Little Rock;

3 Great Grandchildren: Olivia Boone, Caroline Boone, and Tess Boone, all of Wynne.

Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:00 at Highland Drive Christian Church with Brad Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park with Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers include: Doug Wood, Jim Reed, Paul House, Richard Burns,
Elbert “JR” Pierce, and Bob Smith.

Honorary pallbearers include the Elders, Deacons, and Deaconesses of Highland Drive Christian Church, and nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 5-7 at Emerson Funeral Home.
