Mary Alice Barkley

Mary Alice Barkley, 96, of Jonesboro, passed away Monday, August 15, 2016, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born in Austin, Arkansas, Mary Alice was a graduate of Monette High School. She lived most of her life in Jonesboro and was a homemaker and a member of Central Baptist Church.

Mary Alice was a member of the Jonesboro Order of the Eastern Star and was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Barkley; her parents: Sam and Mertie Woodiel Heise; two sons: Larry Barkley and Sammy Barkley; one sister, Eugenia Jordan; and one brother, Freddie Heise.

Survivors include one daughter-in-law: Sandra Barkley of Jonesboro;
3 grandchildren: Tom Barkley of Greenbrier, Melissa Felty of Conway, and Brian Barkley of Whittier, North Carolina; and
4 great grandchildren: Shelby Ross, Camille Barkley, Ashley Barkley and Slade Barkley.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Emerson Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:30 Wednesday in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Mike Martin officiating.
