Marvin Poole Jr., 83, of Jonesboro went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 29, 2017. He was born in Swifton, and had lived in Jonesboro since 1961. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church on Stone Street. Marvin retired as the Manager of Purchasing at Hytrol Conveyor Company Inc. and served his country in the United States Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and one brother.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Velma Poole of the home; son, Terry Poole (Crystal); daughter Marva Poole Murphy all of Jonesboro; brothers, James Poole of Richmond, Virginia; David Poole of Little Rock; sisters, Louise Keaster of Strong, Arkansas; Peggy Bradley, Loretta Gregory, both of Newport; Shirley King of Winter Garden, Florida; grandchildren, Robby Dollar (Verna), Tiffany Sterling (Michael), Melissa Counts (Mark), Beth Davis (Chris), Amanda Pratt and Joseph Poole; eight great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Matt Smith and Roberta Strawn officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Grandchildren and spouses will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be Tuesday night from 5-7 at Emerson Funeral Home.
