Marvin Goforth, 76, of Jonesboro, died Monday at his home. Born at Cardwell, MO, he had lived most of his life in Jonesboro.
He was the owner and operator of Goforth Service Station, was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church and had served in the U.S. Marine Corp. He was a wonderful husband and father.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Maxine Goforth, son Danny Goforth, and granddaughter Natalie Goforth.

Wife- Jean Thomas Goforth of the home
2 Sons- Carl Goforth and Jerry Goforth both of Jonesboro
1 Daughter- Janet Conrey of Sedgwick
1 Stepson- Joel Smith of Jonesboro
2 Stepdaughters- Cari Smith of Jonesboro Ana Newman of Paragould
1 Brother- Joe Goforth of Jonesboro
7 Grandchildren, 4 Step-Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Step Great Grandchildren
Funeral services will be Thursday at 2:00 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Chris Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Darren Harpole, David Emerson, Randy Emerson, Charlie Emerson, Derick Inzer, and Floyd Inzer.
Honorary pallbearers include Bill Cole, Steven Pellman, Bud Dent, and John Davis.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00-7:00 at Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
