Marvin Dunavant, 84, of Jonesboro, died March 24, 2013 at Jonesboro Healthcare. He was born in Caruthersville to Robert Lee & Josephine Barnes Dunavant but had lived in Jonesboro since 1966. Marvin was a retired salesman with Lever Bros. and a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his children, David (Kathy) Dunavant of Jonesboro, Fred (Pam) Dunavant of Conway, Nancy (Ernie) Smith, Ginger Dunavant all of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Mandy (Kevin) Wiley, Hunter Dunavant, Joshua (Tina) Dunavant, Jessica Dunavant, Breeze Dunavant; and great grandchildren, Jacob Dunavant, Mary Lynn Wiley, Clara Beth Wiley, Domnic Dunavant, Camden Hall, and Kaliah Oates.
In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by his wife, Dean Dunavant who died March 1 of this year; and 12 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel with John Earl Dunavant officiating. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be at a later date.
Visitation will be Saturday 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
