Martin Edward Nickless

Martin Edward Nickless, 74, of Bay, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Ridgecrest Health and Rehabilitation in Jonesboro. He was born on March 19, 1951, in Alhambra, California, to the late Vernon and Laverna Nickless.

Martin served in the United States Coast Guard during the Vietnam era. Over the years, he worked in home remodeling, as a prison guard in California, and later at Nestle in Jonesboro before retiring. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his life partner, Doris Leverton of the home; two step-sons, James Leverton of Portland, Oregon, and Patrick (Nicole) Leverton of Andersonville, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Charleston Leverton of Andersonville, Colton Leverton and Austin Leverton, both of Portland; and many other family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held at Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 2pm with Brother Greg Stull officiating.
