Martin E. Sanders, 50, of Jonesboro, died Tuesday, November 16, 2010, from injuries sustained in a car accident near Marked Tree.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Martin lived in Houston, Texas, and Benton, Arkansas, before moving to Jonesboro in 1994. He was the President of Sanders Service, Inc.

Martin was a member of Windover Baptist Church and was an active ordained Baptist minister. He was a member of the Jonesboro Chamber of Commerce and the Dodge Viper Club of America. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Brenda Kay Sanders, and by his mother, Mary Ostanek Sanders.

Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Sanders, of the home;

5 sons and daughter-in-law: Jeremiah and Brandi Sanders, Benjamin Sanders, Preston Dennis, Austin Dennis and Justin Carter, all of Jonesboro;

His father, Weldon Sanders of Jonesboro;

1 brother and sister-in-law: Cy and Pam Sanders of Houston, Texas; and

2 grandchildren: Riley and Kylar Lumpkin.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:00 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Winford Bridges, Dave Rodely, Justin Carter and Jerry Jolly officiating. A graveside committal service will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 in New Home Cemetery in Brownsville, Kentucky with Gravil Funeral Home of Brownsville in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers include Dave Rodely, Tim Hawkins, Kelly Hinkson, Jim Farris, Gordon Taylor and Carlos Gueavara.

Visitation will be held Friday evening, 5-7, at Emerson Funeral Home.
