Martha Neal

Martha Ann Neal, 86, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Friday, May 31, 2019 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born in Frog Pond, Arkansas on September 29, 1932 to the late Glen and Lola Moore. Martha graduated from Arkansas State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She taught second grade at Nettleton Elementary School for 27 years before retiring. Martha loved to watch and feed Blue Birds. She also enjoyed cooking and was proud of her crocheted signs. In addition to her parents, Martha is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Neal Sr.; and brothers, Don Moore and Buddy Moore.

Martha is survived by her son, Vernon “Buster” Neal Jr. (Barbara) of Jonesboro; brother, David Moore of Jonesboro; sisters, Wanda Flemon, Pat Woodall, and Sue Robinett all of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Bobby Neal (Kate) and John Neal (Karen); and one great granddaughter, Kendall Neal.

The visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. on Monday, June 3, 2019 at Emerson Funeral Home.

There will be a graveside service held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, June 3, 2019 at Nettleton Cemetery with Craig Miller officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to The Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House, 1148 E. Matthews Avenue, Jonesboro, Arkansas 72401.
