Martha June Emerson, 88, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Sunday, November 1, 2026 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House with family by her side. She was born June 18, 1938, in Black Rock, Arkansas to the late Rev. John “Otis” Butler and Vielar (Hall) Butler. She lived most of her life in the Jonesboro area and was of the Christian belief. She enjoyed her flower gardens, as well as tending to the many birds that frequented her feeders.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Charles “Charlie” Emerson as well as her parents and six siblings. She is survived by her three daughters, Barbara (Johnny) Rutherford of Oakland, Tennessee; Reca (Rick) Smith of Jonesboro; Kalene Emerson of Mammoth Springs. Additionally, she is survived by three grandchildren, Jason Emerson, Brianna Gray and Bradley Smith, along with four great grandchildren.

Family visitation and a memorial service will take place on Thursday, November 6, 2026 from 5pm-7pm at Emerson Funeral Home.
