Mrs. Martha “Sue” Cox, 77, of Jonesboro passed away, Friday, November 17, 2017 after a long courageous battle with cancer. Sue was born March 7, 1940 to Carl and Marie McAnally in Marietta, Mississippi. She was one of seven sisters and two brothers, placing their roots in the Jonesboro area. Sue worked for Guy’s Tuxedos in Jonesboro for 39 years, becoming lifelong friends with many clients and employees. She was an active member of North Main Baptist Church. Sue deeply loved her church and her family.
Her favorite thing was spending time with family, especially her sisters, brothers, children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Sue continued to wear her Armor of God while battling cancer with dignity and grace. An unwavering faith allowed her to live out her favorite verse, Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who Strengthen me.
Sue was united in Heaven with her beloved husband, Walter Cox; daughter, Terri Coleman; parents, Carl and Marie McAnally; grandparents, and siblings, Arthur “Bud” McAnally and Paula McAnally Fisher.
Left to carry on her spirit is her son, Richard Pearcy of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Jason Huffman of Jonesboro, Derrick (Sarah) Pearcy of Peru, IN, Brynne Pearcy of St. Louis, MO; sisters, Nell (Bill) Crain, Mary Hatley, Jean (Ken) Short, Wanda (Eric) Smith and Cindy (Byron) Dugan all of Jonesboro; brother, Larry (Sherry) McAnally of Lake City, and many nieces and nephews.
Family would like to recognize and give a special thanks to Dr. Rick Tate and his staff and also Home Health Professionals Hospice and their staff.
