Martha Caldwell, 90, a life-long resident of Jonesboro died Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church,   Daughters of the American Revolution, Jonesboro Junior Auxiliary, Pi Beta Phi Alumnae, Women of Wall Street, Jonesboro Ladies Golf Association, and Tally Club.  She was a championship flight golfer.  She had a passion for yellow convertibles, gadgets, crossword puzzles, games with friends, travelling and collecting fun hats.

She attended Jonesboro High School, Randolph Macon College, University of Arkansas, Arkansas State University, and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.  Martha was the office manager at Caldwell’s Velvet Ice Cream Company, and assistant professor in the College of Nursing in the Baccalaureate program at ASU, and a partner in the Epiphanies Gallery.

Survivors include her sister, Alma Jean Kopert of Jonesboro; nieces, Karen Kopert Meeks, Gretchen Kopert Campbell, Olivia Kopert Griggs (Gary); eight great nieces and nephews and six great great nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 12:30 PM, Saturday, November 4, 2017, at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverend Patty Soward officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  Nieces and nephews will serve as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers are Gary Griggs, Julie and Locke Isaacson, Dorine Deacon, Annette Stacy, Beverly Bartels and Bonnie Dueter. Visitation will be from 11:00 – 12:00 on Saturday at Emerson Funeral Home.
