Marna Lee Blindman, 90, departed this life Sunday, June 12, 2011, at St Bernards Medical Center.
Marna was born October 18, 1920, to the late Judge Alex and Besse Saper. She was raised in Kansas City, and moved to Jonesboro in 1956. In her earlier years she served in the Women’s Army Corps in WWII from 1942 to 1945. She later became a homemaker. She was a member of Temple Israel, and was a former Principal of Sabbath School. She was a partner/owner of a specialty shop named “The Added Touch” in Jonesboro. Marna was a member of the Jonesboro Country Club, and a member of the Foundation of Arts in Jonesboro. She was a vocal and ardent fan of ASU Athletics, and was a big supporter of the ASU Red Wolves Club.
She is survived by her husband, Abe Blindman of the home; two sons Scott Blindman and wife Sheila of Jonesboro, and David Blindman of Memphis; a daughter Debbie Lazarov and husband Ron of Memphis; three grandchildren, Adam Lazarov, Amy Lazarov, and Jake Blindman; and many other family members and friends.
Memorial services will be at 11 A.M. Tuesday at Temple Israel with Cantor John Kaplan officiating. Burial will follow at Temple Israel Cemetery in Jonesboro. After the services the family will receive guests at the family’s residents.
