Marlin Whitley

July 2, 1916 — November 12, 2005

Marlin “Buster” Whitley, 89 of Jonesboro died Saturday night, November 12, 2005 at his home. He was born in Black Oak, Arkansas and had lived in the Jonesboro area most of his life. He was of the Baptist belief and was a member of the VFW and the Teamsters. He was a WWII veteran serving in the Pacific Theater.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Grace LaRue Whitley, 2 brothers, 1 sister and 1 grandchild.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bro. Robert Gunnels officiating and burial to follow in Philadelphia Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers are Paul Bielins, Brad Clark, Matt Whitley, Phillip Crego, Floyd Hall, and F. A. Walker.

For those wishing to leave lasting memorials, the family request you please consider St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 332 N. Lauderdale, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.

Visitation will be from 5 -7 Monday at Emerson Funeral Home.
