Mario De Jesus Bruno Sr., 83, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born to the late Pedro and Emilia Bruno on May 4, 1936 in Vega Alta, Puerto Rico. Mario was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Jonesboro with his wife, Iris. Mario was a man of many talents. From playing guitar, reliving his days of playing in a band, to handcrafting a personalized display case for President Harry S. Truman’s treasured smoking pipe. In addition to his parents, Mario is preceded in death by his son, Louis Bruno; and daughter, Madeline Bruno.
Mario is survived by his wife of 40 years, Iris Bruno of Jonesboro; daughter, Gloria Cobble (Joe) of Jonesboro; sons, Mario Bruno Jr., Michael Bruno, and Richard Bruno; grandchildren, Rachel Cobble and Jonathan Cobble. Mario also leaves behind six siblings and a host of other family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2019 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Jonesboro. Burial will be private.
