Marie Loggains Scott

Marie Loggains Scott, age 88 of Jonesboro, our beloved mother, passed from this life Monday at Jonesboro Health & Rehab. Born in Poinsett County, Marie spent most of her life in Jonesboro and was a member of the Valley View Missionary Baptist Church. Marie loved her family, gardening, flowers, sewing and quilting, music, traveling and an enthusiastic fan of the Atlanta Braves.

Marie is preceded in death by her parents, HV and Luella Noah Loggains, 1 son, Danny Scott, 2 sisters, 5 brothers and 5 stepchildren.

Survivors include children, Betty Kinnett (Bob) of Brookland; Margie Woods (Gary), Marilyn Scott Cockrell (Loyd), Dianne Gibson (Jimmy), Judy Glasco (DaWayne), Sharron Pierce, Renae Barnett, all of Jonesboro; Darlene Austin (Michael) of Dallas, Tx; sons, Ronnie Scott of Benton Harbor MI; Wayne Scott (Reba) of Bloomingdale, MI; brothers, Floyd Loggains, of Burnettsville, IN; Kenneth Loggins, of Brockwell, AR.; Curry Loggains of Huntingdon, TN and Lee Roy Loggains of Alicia; and a host of other family members and loved ones.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 30, 2014 from 5-7 pm at Emerson Memorial Chapel. Service will be Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Emerson Memorial Chapel at 10:00 am with Pat Fulmer and Dale Davis officiating. Burial will follow Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
