Marie (Eulita) Treat

Marie (Eulita) Treat, 78, of Jonesboro, died Saturday at St. Vincent’s Infirmary in North Little Rock. She had lived in Jonesboro since 2003, moving here from Batesville. She was an active member of the Woodsprings Baptist Church, where she worked with the Bible School and was a Sunday School teacher. She was also a member of the Church Bowling League. She was active in the Gideons International Auxiliary, worked as a volunteer at the V.A. Hospital in Little Rock and at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. She was a member of the D.A.V., V.F.W., and the Home Demonstration Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Treat; her parents, Emerson & Mary Tomlinson; 1 brother; and 2 sisters.

She is survived by her children, Jim Treat and his wife Helen, Raleigh, N.C., Ronnie Treat, Springdale, AR., Mike Treat, Jonesboro, Linda Smith and her husband, Bob, Phoenix, AZ, and Dr. Arlene Johnson, Rogers, AR. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, James Lawdon Tomlinson, Pekin, IL, Alvis Tomlinson, Modesto, CA, Guy Tomlinson, Olivia Johnston, Faye Lynn, all of Marshall, AR, 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Brother Paul Clark and Brother Winford Henry officiating. Burial will follow in Nettleton Cemetery. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers will be Jonathan Murphy, David Murphy, Art Murphy, Bill Johnson, David Treat, Seth Smith, and Cameron Hatzel-Treat.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
