Marian Stephens Jolly was born on October 24, 1927. She died April 30, 2018. She lived in Jonesboro, Arkansas for most of her life. She attended Mississippi State College for Women and Arkansas State University. She married Roy Jolly on Easter Sunday1949 in a double wedding Ceremony with her sister Jane Stephens and her husband W.T. Crews.
Marian was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority at Arkansas State University and later served as chapter advisor and Rush advisor. She was life member of Jonesboro Junior Auxiliary and served as a national officer. She was an avid bridge player. She worked in business development at Mercantile Bank. She was also a wedding director and loved to tell that she had directed over 500 weddings. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and sang in the choir for many years. Marian also served on the boards of the Salvation Army, Arkansas State Museum, Foundation of Arts, and the United Way. She enjoyed traveling and entertaining. She will be remembered for her quick wit, positive outlook, and love of family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Jolly, and grandson Kyle Rees.
Survivors are daughters: Jane Jolly Rees and Carol Jolly both of Jonesboro; grandchildren: Julie Frumin(Micheal Frumin) of Agoura Hills, CA, Mallory Rees(Beau Carucci) of Los Angelas, CA; great-grandchildren: Ryan Frumin and Elyse Frumin.
A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Bruce Venable officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to FBC Jonesboro and the NEA Humane Society.
