Margie Juanita Scarborough

Margie Juanita Scarborough, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2023, at the age of 95. She was born on December 2, 1927, in Bono, Arkansas, to the late James and Ruth Kaffka. Margie spent the majority of her life in Jonesboro, Arkansas, with a brief period in Judsonia, Arkansas, spanning about 20 years.

Margie was a dedicated member of Jonesboro Baptist Church. Margie was particularly fond of vegetable and flower gardening, finding great pleasure in nurturing and tending to her plants. She also had a talent for quilt making and crocheting, creating beautiful and cherished pieces. Margie had a kind heart and found fulfillment in helping others. Additionally, she had a passion for cooking, delighting her family and friends with her delicious meals.

Margie was preceded in death by her six brothers, Jay, John, Bill, Henry, Cecil, and Dan Kaffka; four sisters, Lillian Butler, Ireta Lard, Dorcas Delp, and Cordelia Kaffka; her grandson, Jamie Alan Horne; and step-daughter, Margie Alton. Her passing leaves a void in the lives of those who loved her dearly.

Margie is survived by her son, David Clark of Orlando, Florida; two daughters, Charolette (Carl) Horne of Jonesboro and Jamesena (Junior) Henry of Judsonia. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Heather (Tony) Grimm of Olive Branch, MS, Dathan (Tammy) Robbins and Nathan Robbins, both of Judsonia; and great-grandchildren, Victoria Grimm, Brendan Grimm, Zacary Grimm, Halie Grimm, and Dillon (Kaitlyn) Robbins. Margie's legacy continues through her step-children, including two step-sons, Steve (Violet) Robbins of Judsonia and Jerry Scarborough of Jonesboro; and five step-daughters, Naomi (Kenny) Moore of Searcy, Melinda (Greg) Durkee of Oklahoma, Sharon Stallings, Nancy Merrell, and Linda Pinkston, all residing in Jonesboro. Additionally, she is survived by several nieces and nephews who will fondly remember their Aunt Margie.

A visitation will be held from 9-10 am on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Emerson Funeral Home, where friends and loved ones can pay their respects. Following the visitation, a funeral service will commence at 10 am, also at Emerson Funeral Home with Aaron Pennington officiating. Margie will be laid to rest at Herman Cemetery.
