Margaret J. Moody

Margarita J. Moody, lovingly known as Margaret, was born on April 14, 1943, in Mexico City. She passed away peacefully surrounded by the family she loved so dearly.

Margarita was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James V. Moody, and her parents, Chester and Nina Knox.

She is survived by her sister, Nona Poole; her daughters, Casey (Steve) Trevizo, April (Ernest) Ortega, and Kim Plagenza; and her grandchildren, Brandon, Amanda, Berlyn, Britane, Justfier, Beth, Ernest, Seth, Ryan, Justin & 26 great grandchildren.

Margarita’s love for her family was unmatched. She was a devoted mother and a loving grandmother who took great pride and joy in her family. Her greatest gift was the love she gave so freely, and the memories she created with those she loved will remain forever.

Margarita called Jonesboro home for 50 years, where she formed wonderful friendships and became part of the community. She loved staying active, especially bowling, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She also proudly worked at NEA Baptist for 25 years before retiring.

Her faith was an important part of her life. She was active in her church and trusted deeply in the Lord. Her faith, strength, and love were an example to her family and all who knew her.

Margarita leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, faith, family, friendship, and devotion. While she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of everyone she touched.

She was deeply loved, she lived a beautiful life, and she will never be forgotten.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bro. Randall Moody officiating. Entombment will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 a.m. prior to the service.
