Margaret Hilburn, 89, of Jonesboro passed away Monday, April 3, 2023 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born October 17, 1933 in Wiseman, Arkansas to the late Herman and Annie Elizabeth Tanner. Margaret was a graduate from Williams Baptist College. She was a member of Central Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school 4 ^th grade for many years. Margaret worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance before retiring. She was a member of BP&W of Jonesboro and also a volunteer for NEA Baptist Auxiliary. Margaret enjoyed reading, crocheting and spending time with family.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie C. Hilburn; 3 brothers, Dyess Tanner, Hugh Tanner, Noel Tanner and 1 sister, Ruby Montgomery.

Survivors include her son, Tony Sterling of Jonesboro; 2 daughters, Debra (Don) Fegtly of Jonesboro, Jennifer May of Jonesboro; sister, Helen French of Burleson, Texas; 5 grandchildren: Michael (Dr. Tiffany) Sterling of Jonesboro, Jonathan (Laura) Fegtly of Pinckney, Michigan, Justin (Lyndsey) Fegtly of Jenison, Michigan, Drake May of Jonesboro, Jackson May of Jonesboro and 7 great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be Friday, April 7, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bro. Jay Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 a.m. prior to the service.
