Margaret Elizabeth Powell

Margaret Elizabeth Powell, 85, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, died Friday at her home of natural causes.

Born in Joiner, Mrs. Powell lived in Black Oak before moving to Jonesboro in 1959. She was a retired Library clerk at Annie Camp Junior High School, and a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church where she was a member of United Methodist Women.

Mrs. Powell was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and was preceded in death by her husband: Eddy Powell; by 2 grandsons: Brent Powell and Shane Powell; by 1 sister: Sara Rodgers; and by 2 brothers: Dr. Sam Willis and Gene Willis.

Survivors include:

2 Daughters: Anita Murray of Jonesboro, and
Mary Beth Powell of Southaven, Mississippi;

2 Sons: Buddy Powell of Jonesboro, and
Mike Powell of Tampa, Florida;

1 Sister: Kathryn Willis of Jonesboro;

4 Grandchildren: Sean Powell of Irvine, California,
Amber Bingham,
Candice Murray, and
Grant Murray, all of Jonesboro; and

6 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 at Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro with Rev. John Soward officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held Tuesday afternoon from 1:00-2:00 at Emerson Funeral Home.
