Margaret L Denny

Margaret [Parge] Louise Green Denny, 89, of Jonesboro, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at The Craighead County Nursing Center. She was born on May 15, 1934 in Rector, Arkansas to Robert and Alma Durden Green. Parge graduated high school in Rector, Arkansas and achieved multiple degrees in Home Economics getting her Bachelor's from ASU and Master's from University of Arkansas. Later in life she pursued her degree in Library Science and was the Librarian in the Brookland School District for several years before working at the Library at ASU where she worked until she retired. She is survived by her son, Mark (Linda) Denny and her daughter, Tracy Reome, two grandchildren, Katie Reome and Valerie Fritts as well as two great-grandchildren, Kyle and Aaron Fritts.  She was preceded in death by her husband Don Carlos Denny and her brother Bobby Green, Jr and her sister Ellen Rowden.  She attended Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Jonesboro.

She was an avid gardener and had beautiful flower gardens to show for it. She loved to read and passed that passion onto many people. Parge was a patron of the arts and helped support the Arts and Music program at Watson Elementary School in Huntsville, Arkansas. She and her husband, Don had many marvelous adventures traveling extensively throughout the United States following their retirement.  She loved her family so much and it showed. She lived a grand life and was loved by many friends. One could not ask for more than that.

Services will be held at Emerson's Funeral Home in Jonesboro on Monday, June 12, 2023 at 2:00 pm. A visitation will precede the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Burial will be at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ernie Cullum, Danny Morse, Luke Morse, JW Fritts, Kyle Fritts and Rodney Elwood.
Honorary pallbearers are Sonny Potts, Dave Atherton, Wes Eddington, Mickey Evens, Bruce Sitz, John Sifford, Randy West, Lee Elwood and Tom Elwood.
