Margaret Ann Aycock, 88, of Jonesboro, AR, passed away at home on January 31, 2025 from natural causes.
Margaret was born on December 19, 1936, at St. Joseph’s Infirmary, in Houston, TX, to Joe Bailey Glass and Etta Mae Knight Glass. She had two brothers, Joe B. Glass, Jr. and Earl Glass.
Margaret graduated from Birmingham High School in Birmingham, MI and went on to attend Memphis State where she received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Masters in Early Childhood Education.
Margaret’s first calling was making a home for her family. She went on to lead Bible Study Fellowship for many years and had recently rewritten all of her lessons and notes. In 2006, she joined the St. Bernards Hospital Auxiliary. She served in the intensive care waiting room, but became a mainstay in the gift shop. She became a gift shop buyer and went on to serve as President in 2010.
She was a vibrant personality, outgoing, and enjoyed people. After retirement, she greatly enjoyed helping friends decorate their homes and contributed her knowledge and skills cheerfully. She had the enormous joy of traveling extensively, gladly accepting any and all adventures.
Margaret is survived by her son, John Aycock and his wife Linda of Jonesboro, AR; daughter-in-law, Delores Aycock of Springfield, MO; her younger brother, Earl Glass and his wife Dorethea; grandchildren, Casey Aycock, Cody and Courtney Aycock, Cooper and Sophia Aycock, Austin and Emily Aycock, Alexandra and Jay Knighton, Ashley Aycock, and A.J. Aycock; great-grandchildren, Ari Aycock, Aaron Aycock, Ascher Aycock, Knox Knighton and Kai Knighton; and several nieces and nephews.
Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Joe B. and Etta Mae Glass, her son, Chip Aycock, and her brother, Joe B. Glass, Jr.
In accordance with Margaret’s wishes, all services will be private.
