Marcus D. Ford

June 26, 1973 — December 11, 2014

Marcus (Marc) Dwayne Ford, of Bono, Arkansas, left his earthly home at 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2014, at the age of 41 at UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock.
He was surrounded by his loving family.

Marc was preceded in death by his grandparents, J.R. and Ophelia Ford, 2 uncles: Cloyce Cline and Stanley Cline and his father-in-law, J.W. (Sparky) Winn. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Winn Ford, son Ethan Ford and daughter Darcy Ford. Also surviving are his parents, Dwayne and Kathy Ford, sister Angie Ford Jones and husband Scotty Jones, grandparents, Jessie and Ella Cline, mother-in-law, Barbara Winn, sister-in-law, Laura Pittman and her husband Norman, brother-in-law, Wayne Winn and wife Becky; 8 nieces and nephews: Madison Fowler, Keegan Fowler, Betty Pittman, Blake Pittman, Christian Winn, Jacob Winn, Zach Jones and Landon Jones and many other family and friends.

Marc was born June 26, 1973, the second child of Dwayne and Kathy Ford. He graduated from Westside High School in 1991 and married Nancy Winn July 25, 1997. He worked at General Electric and then at Westside Public Schools as Maintenance Supervisor. Marc was a member of Herman Baptist Church.

To all who knew him, Marc was funny, caring and had a huge heart. He entered every room with a smile, and found laughter in the toughest of situations. Though his health had been deteriorating in recent years, Marc stood by the motto, "God's Got This" until the very end. Marc's favorite verse, Isaiah 40:30-31 says, "Though youths grow weary and tired, and vigorous young men stumble badly, yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary."

Marc's family would like to thank his transplant team of nurses, residents and doctors that took such excellent care of him at UAMS, especially Drs. Aduli, Duarte and Borja. They would also like to thank friends and family for their continued prayers over the last years. If you would like to make a donation in memory of Marc, please consider St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or ARORA (Arkansas Regional Organ Recovery Agency) 1701 Aldersgate Rd., Suite 4, Little Rock, AR 72205, (501) 907-9150, info@arora.org.
