Malcolm Christopher Smith

July 17, 1963 — February 13, 2020

Malcolm Christopher Felkins Smith, 56, of Russellville, Arkansas passed from this life on February 13, 2020. He was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas to Teddy Eugene Felkins and Bonnie LaVonne Wadley Felkins. Malcolm was later adopted by his stepfather, Earl Smith. Malcolm lived his early years mainly in North East Arkansas except for a couple of years as a very small child in Aurora, Illinois and then a year in Thompson Falls, Montana. As a youngster, Malcolm spent many days playing with his cousins and siblings whom he loved so much.

He was an electrician by trade and worked for many years in the printing press industry. He traveled extensively with his job. He worked all over the United States and in Venezuela.

Malcolm loved to garden. He enjoyed planting, raising and harvesting his own vegetables. He also loved to fish. He spent many hours fishing with his daughter and others.

He is survived by his daughter, Gabrielle Patterson and son-in-law Justin Patterson; one grandson Braden McMullin; his mother, Bonnie Smith; sisters, Veanessa McKinney (Mike) and Rebecca Waggoner (Art); Brother Michael Smith (Pam). He is also survived by several aunts and uncles, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

He is preceded in death by his daughter Sarah; father, Teddy Felkins; stepfather, Earl Smith; grandparents, Earl and Stella Felkins, Dovie Hisaw, Neal Wadley, and Minnie Smith; one grandson, Trevor Wayne Coburn; and two great nieces.

Malcolm will forever live in the hearts of his family. He always saw the best in all of us. We will miss him forever.

A visitation will be from 1-2 pm Monday, February 17, 2020 at Emerson Funeral Home.

A funeral service will follow at 2 pm Monday, February 17, 2020 at Emerson Funeral Home with Will Vodraska officiating. Burial will follow at Worley Cemetery with active pallbearers being Michael Smith, Justin Patterson, Kody Smith, Jake Kellett, Carol Cress, and Michael Lindsey. Honorary pallbearer will be his grandson, Braden McMullin.
