Major E. Lee, 71, of Jonesboro, died Sunday morning at St. Bernards Medical Center.
Born in Dixie, Major lived most of life in Jonesboro. He was the General Manager of Abernathy Motor Company in Jonesboro for many years and was of the Church of Christ belief. He was a U.S. Marines veteran of the Korean War and was preceded in death by his parents: Obe and Goldie Parkins Lee; and 2 brothers: Bill Lee and Leonard Lee.
Survivors include:
His wife: Melda Coggin Lee of the home;
2 Sons: Major B. Lee of Florida, and
Britt Cooper of Indiana;
3 Daughters: Sandy Lee Hutchings and her husband Rick of Jonesboro,
Karen Oliver and her husband Mike of El Dorado, and
Debbie Dildine of Steele, Missouri;
3 Brothers: Morris Gene Lee of Dixie,
Clifton Lee of Paragould, and
Jimmie Lee of North Carolina;
1 Sister: Joyce Ryan of Paragould;
9 Grandchildren, and
7 Great Grandchildren.
All services will be private.
There will be no visitation.
