Mae Owens

Edla “Ma-Mae” Owens, 102, of Lake City, Arkansas died Thursday, September 27, 2007, at NEA Medical Center. She was born in Athens, Alabama and lived most of her life in the Lake City area. She was a member of the Lake City Methodist Church and was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Donna Dover.

She is survived by her son, William “Donald” Hayes, of Chicago, Illinois; Evelyn Bowman and her husband Jim, of Lake City; brother, Douglas Owens, of Michigan, and Margrette Hipshire, of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Dennis Hayes, Darrel Hayes, David Hayes, Deanna Ridge, Jim Bowman, Jr.; 16 great grandchildren, 13 great great grandchildren, and 3 great great great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 29, 2007 at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverend Jerry Reed officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers are Bobby Barker, Houston Ridge, Josh Ridge, Jim Bowman Jr., Junior Davis, and Jimmy Hall. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 Friday night at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
