Mae M. Vickers, 87, of Jonesboro, died Sunday afternoon at St. Bernards Medical Center. Born in Natchitoches, LA to Henry J. & Rena M. Miller, she was a homemaker. She was a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church where she was active in the Afternoon UMW Group and a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class. At church she was a member of the Bereavement Committee and participated in several Bible studies. She was also a member of the Herman Home Extension Club.
She is survived by her son, M. Clarke Vickers; daughter and son-in-law, Jana Kay & Robert B. Garcia, all of Jonesboro; her sister-in-law, Marion Norris; her grandchildren, Stephanie K. & Jason Smith, Samuel R. Vickers; 1 great grandchild, Kaylee L. Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Fleet M. Vickers.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Tommy Toombs officiating. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be private.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
