Mae Kee Adams

Mae Kee Adams, 92, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, died Thursday, June 25, 2009, at Craighead Nursing Home in Jonesboro.

Born May 11, 1917, at Camden, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late John Wiley and Vannie Kee. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Riley Adams, son-in-law Drane Adams and several brothers and sisters.

Mae Adams was a former resident of Blytheville, Arkansas where she was actively involved in the First Baptist Church. After moving to Jonesboro in 1985 Mae became a member of Central Baptist Church participating in the Rainbow Class and Caleb Mountain Climbers.

A devoted and creative homemaker, she also worked at Westbrook Fashions in Blytheville. Mrs. Adams loved cooking, sewing and gardening. While living in Blytheville, she won Yard of the Month several times. Her family, which included many grandchildren and great grandchildren, was an important part of her life.

Survivors include her daughters, Delores Adams of Jonesboro and Donna Moore and husband Brice of Cordova, Tennessee. Grandchildren are Fran Osment and husband Jim of Jonesboro, David Adams of Marion, Lindsey Eason of Cordova, Tennessee and Jonathan Adams of Jonesboro. She also leaves eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside committal service will be held Saturday morning at 10:00 at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial service will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mike Martin officiating. Visitation will follow the memorial service.
