Mabel Mcgowen

November 2, 1925 — October 3, 2007

Mabel V. McGowen, 81, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, died Wednesday at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born in Stoddard County, Missouri, Mrs. McGowen lived in Malden before moving to Jonesboro in 1984. She worked several years for DuKane Corporation and was a member of Valley View Missionary Baptist Church in Jonesboro.

Mrs. McGowen was preceded in death by her husband: Lawrence H. McGowen; by her parents: Everett and Minnie Kelley Boone; by a son: Jimmy Hartford; by 2 sisters: Louise Barnes and Joyce Massingill; and by 1 brother: Bill Nunn.

Survivors include:
4 Daughters and Sons-in-law: Norma and Lowell King,
Nancy and Butch Perry, and
Jeanie and Burnis Glasco, all of Jonesboro, and
Theresa McGowen of Cortland, Illinois;

2 Sister: Thelma Crabtree of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Pansy McGowen of Dexter, Missouri;

8 Grandchildren: Melissa Beckers, Joey Perry, Amy Perry, B.J. Glasco, Tammy Webb, Larry Glasco, Bambi Painter and Jimmy Combs.

15 Great Grandchildren: Ariel Brinkley, Ella Perry, Bruce Perry, Austin Glasco, Travis Glasco, Tyler Webb, Amber Webb, Zevon Pare, Tabitha Glasco, Cassarra Painter, Mikey Painter, Rhiannon Carlson, Kaylei Miller, Jaxon Perry and Evan Henson.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening, 5-8, at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 in Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home Chapel in Bernie, Missouri with Elvis Brandon officiating. Burial will follow in Bernie Cemetery under the direction of Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
